Version 3.40 to 3.49 History
VERSION 3.40 July 1995
ENHANCEMENT 1: The new format that Buckmaster
started with their April 1995 issue is automatically
detected and handled appropriately. When a US call
is looked up from the Master Log, the county and
grid square are automatically entered as well as
the name and QTH.
ENHANCEMENT 2: The <SHIFT> <F8> pop-up utility which
displays the file counts now also updates the master
count records in case the QSO counts gets off and
you don't want to go through the time consuming
process of running an RI.
ENHANCEMENT 3: A DXCC Totals Window has been added
to the <ALT> <D> DXCC pop-up window.
ENHANCEMENT 4: The <SHIFT> <F10> pop-up utility has
been modified to use extended memory when available.
(before I was only using conventional and expanded)
This makes it more compatable with Windows users also.
ENHANCEMENT 5: The rules for determining a US State
from the QTH field have been liberialized. Now any
character may be used to separate the city from the
state 2-leter abbreviation except another capital
letter.
ENHANCEMENT 6: A new utility program was added that
creates the start-up batch file LOGSTART.BAT. This
makes it easier for users to add or subtract the
loading of TSR programs necessary to run the SAM or
Buckmaster database.
ENHANCEMENT 7: AM and FM have been included as valid
modes when calculating the phone statistics.
ENHANCEMENT 8: A second import routine was added
to accomodate Total Ham's newer file format.
FIX 1: You were not allowed to set the <SHIFT> <F9>
default record with the new designator <P> for Print
in the QSL Sent Field.
FIX 2: My import for WB2OPA's newer style of files
was having a little trouble finding the first
record properly with some files.
FIX 3: After exiting the program the screen colors
are returned to the normal DOS color of white letters
on a black background.
FIX 4: There was a problem with rounding of the
Longitude with calculating some grid squares in the
<ALT> <G> pop-up window.
FIX 5: Even if you turned the printer ready checking
in the options window, it still stayed on for most
reports.
FIX 6: There was not a valid description for the
Total Counties report in the <SHIFT> <F10> Report
Viewer.
VERSION 3.41 August 1995
ENHANCEMENT 1: An import routine has been added for
Logic 4 files.
ENHANCEMENT 2: A number of printable fields have
been added to the QSL module: USPS Zip Code barcode,
KK6EK QSL barcode, and My Call.
ENHANCEMENT 3: A number of printing options have
been added to the QSL module: Print stations never
QSLed before, print USA only, print DX only, change
QSL Sent=No to Yes.
ENHANCEMENT 4: For those users that don't want the
new Buckmaster format to fill the flags field with
the US County and/or Grid Square, these can be turned
off in the options window.
ENHANCEMENT 5: When adding QSOs in the Master Log
program you can have entries from the previous record
automatically fill the fields you select. You set
the option in the <SHIFT> <F9> pop-up utility.
ENHANCEMENT 6: Options have been added to allow you
to turn off indexing routines you do not need for
your style of operation. This can speed up routines.
ENHANCEMENT 7: The following emission designators
are now recognized as a RTTY QSO for report
purposes: ATOR, GTOR, PTOR, CLVR and AFEC.
FIX 1: The N6TR import for IARU contest logs wasn't
putting the correct zone in the flags field.
FIX 2: In a "Yes/No" dialog box, pressing the space
bar served the same purpose as the return key.
FIX 3: Records with blank information were showing
up in the Grid Square window.
FIX 4: When in the middle of a print run in the
new QSLing module if the printer was shut off or it
ran out of paper, the program would crash.
FIX 5: In the process of writing code for the new
Buckmaster format I managed to disable the <CONTROL>
A lookup feature in the Master Log for all the other
callsign databases.
FIX 6: If you erase all the text in the comment
window, the "Comments Exist" flag would be displayed
anyway.
FIX 7: If a line of data from the QRZ database was
greater than 30 characters it would crash the
address window.
FIX 8: If you changed the sequence in the Master Log
program to date order by using the Options Window,
if a Multiple QSO Window was displayed, it wouldn't
close. It was fine if you used <CONTROL> O.
FIX 9: In the QSL Printing pop-up utility <ALT> Q,
if you were printing labels using the one call feature
on a dot matrix printer, an extra blank label was
left between each printed label.
VERSION 3.42 November 1995
ENHANCEMENT 1: An option has been added to the WF1B
import routine. You can select how you wish to handle
the US State when found, either put it in the QTH field,
append it to the end of the report, or do nothing.
ENHANCEMENT 2: In the new QSL printing window you can
print a listing of your selection.
ENHANCEMENT 3: You can access the data from the new
Amateur Radio Callbook callsign database CD. The grid
square can automatically be inserted based on Callbook's
Lat. and Long. provided if you select that option in
the options window.
ENHANCEMENT 4: All the callsign database routines have
been improved in order to make the most of the data
they provide.
FIX 1: In the new QSL printing window there was a some
programmers information being displayed in the upper
left corner of the screen that wasn't suppposed to be.
FIX 2: The K1EA imports derive the frequency from
the band/mode as the frequency data supplied is not
always accurate.
FIX 3: In the last version I mistakenly disabled the
Canadian Province and Japanese Prefectures
identification.
VERSION 3.43 January 1996
ENHANCEMENT 1: The Callbook company has provided a
smaller TSR for interfacing with their CD ROM. It
only takes one third of the memory of their previous
version.

Icom 725 was added to the list.
ENHANCEMENT 3: The default colors were changed to
be more clearly visible on more monitors.
FIX 1: In the address window the first line of the
address wouldn't transfer from the callsign database
to the personal address window.
FIX 2: When looking up a call in the address window
using the SAM database the callsign would sometimes
be dropped in the address.
FIX 3: In the information program all the software
history would not load using standard memory
requirements so the history is now split into two
files, ancient and recent.
FIX 4: The keypads keys stopped working in the
Net Operations module.
FIX 5: When using the one call feature of the new
QSLing program the position would always return to
the left column when finished.
FIX 6: If you needed address information looked up
in the new QSLing program it would hunt for the
information even though it may have just gotten it
from the previous label.
FIX 7: When saving a QSL format in the new QSLing
format program the user was allowed to enter space
bars within the filename which would mess things up.

is given to Maryland.

labels (vertically) has been added to the new QSL
printing window.
FIX 1: The <SHIFT> <F9> Pop-up Utility had problems.
You couldn't set the special code, when returning to
the Master Log the display was goofy. Also the <INSERT>
key in the date field would give you the local date and
not the UTC date.
FIX 2: Lots of fine tuning was performed on the rig
control routines for the Yaesu 890 and 990. It
appears that the 900 operates the same as the 890.
VERSION 3.45 February 1996
ENHANCEMENT 1: Rig control for Ten-Tec radios has
been added.
ENHANCEMENT 2: In the Master Log you can send the
rig to a desired frequency by pressing <CONTROL> F
and then entering the frequency (not available for
Yaesu's).
FIX 1: In the interface for the newer Buckmaster CD
all the date fields were not being transferred.
FIX 2: On the Callbook CD, the entire class name is
displayed and not just the first letter.
FIX 3: Half the callsign databases didn't work with
the Master Log program. Then would work in the
address window. The ones affected were AmSoft, QRZ,

QSO Window are that it is available even when in
Chronological Order and it is only as wide as
necessary to accomodate the longest callsign.

with your logs and you are alerted of any new ones.

both ways you weren't allowed to enter additional QSOs
for either callsign.
FIX 2: The county reports would not execute.
